Liza Didkowska
I am inspired by the way light interacts with and reflects off different textures. In my paintings, I explore the ways in which objects interact with one another, influence each other, and transform under pressure.
Color is one of the main ways I create a dialogue with the viewer. I am drawn to pure, expressive hues and to the ambiguity of an image — I like it when it is not immediately clear what a painting depicts. I invite the viewer to take a closer look, to return to the work, and to discover something new each time.
I am currently developing my artistic practice at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Alongside my own work, I take part in exhibitions and organize exhibitions with “Galeria START,” a student art collective of which I am an active member.
